Madeth Gray'll

An old hand in the indies scene, Madeth Gray'll were an aggressive presence from 1997 until their disbanding in January, 2001. With their dark, unique music and their beautiful, goth-influenced appearance, they've held many fans enraptured since the first. Although they've seen many changes and setbacks over the years, including the death of one of their guitarists, and several complete lineup changes until Yukina is the only original member, they nonetheless kept their style and their great sound to the very end.
I still adore them and listen to them constantly, and I hope that all the members will go on to make new and interesting bands from here.
News
Airi has joined the band Crack brain as of November 2001. (You can find a pic of Crack brain with Airi in it in the random gallery page.) Reika has gone on to join Doremidan, and Hisui has started a new band with the unfortunate name of 'Jelly Berry'. ;^^
Music
Very goth, very dark and moody, and very screamy and intense. Hisui has one hell of a set of vocal chords and he knows what to do with them, be it crooning sorrowfully, screaming viciously, or panting and laughing like a madman. The finicky, tempremental guitars drive the music, hard and unrelenting. Madeth Gray'll is very easy to start listening to and very hard to stop. Highly recommended. There have been a multitude of demotapes released since their beginning, as well as several maxi singles, and two full length albums.
Live
Energetic and manically enjoyable. Hisui has one hell of a stage presence; forget photographs, they do not do him justice, not even remotely. He's an ethereal beauty, almost too beautiful to be believed, and he stalks about the stage in moody disdain, crooning and screaming in the same breath, working up the crowd with his gesturing and pouting. Izumi is brooding and sensual, watching from a distance, then moving close to aggresively coax the fans into action. Airi is a gorgeous little tease; he knows he's wanted, and he loves to almost give you a chance to get near him. Yukina, in contrast, is quite distanced, keeping to the back of the stage. Reika is an aggressive, but quiet presence up the back, however he did go crowdsurfing at the end of the set when I saw them. (So did Hisui! ^_^)
Look
The ultimate goths, with all trappings thereabout. The white, white makeup, the black eyes and lips, the tight leather, vinyl, pvc, the torn fishnets, buckles and collars, the crucifixes, lace and feathers. They've always gone to the maximum effort with their costumes, and they always manage to look immensely beautiful doing so.
